
Garter snakes, once considered soley a beginner's snake, are becoming more and more popular as pets. Garter snakes
make great pets, for beginners to even the most advanced hobbyist. They are small by colubrid standards, rarely exceeding
4 feet in length. Garter snakes are inquisitive by nature, diurnal, colorful, docile and can be fed a varied diet of fish
and/or worms and/or rodents. They do well in captivity, with an average lifespan of 10 years.
